Kaweka Ranch offers fair chase hunting. Our game preserve covers thousands of acres of natural deer habitat, with only a 6ft boundary fence separating the estate from tens of thousands of acres of free range hunting. Unlike other game preserves which separate various species to different locations throughout New Zealand, there are no breeding pens and there is no supplementary feeding during winter.
A structured game management program during the five years prior to opening has resulted in Kaweka Ranch possessing excellent genetic quality amongst all herds including Sika, Sambar and Rusa which are only available on the North Island of New Zealand.
The advantages of hunting our large private game ranch are many. Because all our species are breeding in natural herds at Kaweka Ranch, hunters do not have to spend hours in vehicles every day travelling to different areas - there is no 'packing and unpacking' going on here! Our elegant homestead is at your fingertips at all times and our location in Hawke's Bay affords us an awesome climate and convenience for non hunting companions.
